It all started Monday. My employer had her little baby last week so when I went to work Monday, I had a new sweet baby girl to help watch along with Little Bird! Baby Birdie is sooooooo adorable and such a good baby! It's cute to watch Little Bird give her kisses and hugs and wake up saying her name and wanting to hold her and shaking her hand as she says "Good morning!" It has me thinking about the babies I want someday. After all, that's my next season of life, Lord willing, right? I've only been married a month and a half and already I can feel that desire in me to be a mom. I guess my time with Baby Birdie will have to do for now. :)
So while my mind has been all wrapped up in tiny fingers and tiny yawns and tiny noses, something caught my eye on my way home from work the other day. There is this house that I pass (if I take the scenic route :) ) that is my dream house if there ever was one. It's a two story yellow farm house with a porch that wraps all around it, a sun-room on one side, big trees and a little playground in the yard. It really is perfect! And the other day, lined up across the railing on the front porch in the sun were several pairs of jeans. I could tell from the varying sizes that the house contained a jean-wearing Daddy and probably several big jean-wearing boys. Suddenly, my daydreams jumped from holding a little baby in my arms to having young men and women around the house. To holiday traditions not yet created. To family laughter and singing around the piano. To hanging jeans on my own front porch in the sun.
Little ones don't stay little forever but those seasons of sweet smelling babies are just as sweet as a house full of big people, all trying to get ready for church at the same time. :) But back to the here and now, a quiet house with no noise, a clean house with no toys to pick up, a happy house where a new husband and a new wife live, trying to figure out how to love each other best. And I wouldn't trade this sweet season for the world!
You are loved so stay happy!
