2016 Summer Movies

It's time for another movies roundup because there are so many movies coming out this summer that I want to see! Some of them have been long awaited. A few are new found stories. In any case, it looks like there's going to be lots of good stuff coming out over the summer, which in Casey speak means lots of good movies that aren't one bit superhero related. And it's about time! Let us all jump for joy!

Love and Friendship
Release Date - May 13
Why I Want To See It - If there is any Jane Austen news to be had, I get it. Either from a friend or through social media, I'm one of the first to know. So when I heard that there's a new Jane Austen movie coming out, I basically went nuts. Seriously! A movie based off of a JA story that hasn't been done before! Whaaaaaaat!!!!! This story based on Jane's Lady Susan came out a little over a week ago but we're still waiting for it to come to our theater. If I have to wait much longer, I may just drive to the nearest state that's playing it...

Alice Through The Looking Glass
Release Date - May 27
Why I Want To See It - Yes, there's a club that's anti Alice In Wonderland. My husband is part of that club. But I liked the first movie that came out six years ago! I loved Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp was the perfect Mad Hatter. This sequel is just the kind of quirky nonsense my summer is looking for.

Me Before You
Release Date - June 3
Why I Want To See It - You know that I'm picky about my chick flicks so when I first saw the cover of this movie, I dismissed it. Since then, I've read some things about it and now it's one of my summer priority movies. Even the trailer makes you teary! I'm envisioning a girls night out to see this one.

Now You See Me 2
Release Date - June 10
Why I Want To See It - Did you see the first one? It was everything. Everyone went magic crazy. So why on earth would you not go see the second one? I predict it will be a smash hit!

Finding Dory
Release Date - June 17
Why I Want To See It - Move aside kids! Some of us have been waiting 13 years to know how Marlin, Nemo and Dory lived after the P Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way Sydney incident. There aren't a lot of movies that I think are worth spending the extra bucks to see in 3D, but this one I will. In fact, I may even convince Dearest Carl to take me to the IMAX for it! Just to satisfy my inner child.

Florence Foster Jenkins
Release Date - August 12
Why I Want To See It - Here's a movie that I stumbled across as I was procrastinating one day by watching movie trailers. It's based on a true story and it looks like such a good movie about marriage and reaching unreachable goals. Plus, it stars Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant. Do you need more?
