Happy Monday! It may not look too happy outside today, being cold and rainy, however being rainy, I brought an umbrella to work and having an umbrella means hours of fun for Little Bird. :) Today's week is kinda weird. Dearest Carl and I are quite busy which means not a whole lot of cooking will be going on in the Watkins' Kitchen. But what it will produce will be delicious. :)
Monday: Having a Downton Abbey date with my wonderful Mother at her house while Dearest Carl is at church for a men's dinner
Tuesday: Quiche (quickly becoming a Watkins staple I think) and Fruit
Wednesday: Potato Soup (because we're gone Monday and Tuesday nights) and Bread
Thursday: Hamburgers and Chips
Friday: Babysitting some of our favoritest kids in the world!
Bonus Recipe! Yesterday, I made these Mini Corn Dogs for lunch. They were delicious! I didn't quite follow the recipe though. I used Jiffy Mix instead of making my own cornbread. Dearest Carl and I also discovered that it would taste even better if you cut the hot dogs in smaller pieces and mix them throughout the batter before baking. Just some tips. :)
Weekend Foodie Happenings:
Saturday, Dearest Carl and I went adventuring to Cincinnati. We visited IKEA (my first time there!) and also stopped at the famed Jungle Jim's International Market! When I say that place is huge, I mean HUUUUUUGE!!!! And they have sooooo much to see and experience! There is the normal ol' American groceries section, sections for meats, cheeses, breads and alcoholic drinks from other countries, Natural Food section, Gluten Free section and then a huge section that has foods from all different countries. We browsed through Germany, Greece, Great Britain (their tea selection is simply splendid my dear!), Holland, France, India, Mexico and a whole bunch of other countries! We came away with Turkish Delight (our main reason for going to the store in the first place), Guarana (Brazilian soda that is amazing), Tangerine Almond tea and some kind of cake that we had no idea what it was but it looked and ended up tasting delicious. For any foodies and/or adventurers out there, I highly recommend you go. :)
Okay okay, I'll stop rambling. :) You are loved so stay happy!
